Visa requirements

After so many years of tiring process of visa application in order to get it for Russia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has set up the new rules and regulations for applying visa to Kaliningrad, Vladivostok (already functioning successfully) and now from 1st October 2019 for St. Petersburg!

With new regulations it is sufficient to have the electronic Visa, which is provided Free of charge. Just visit to the Russian Ministry of foreign Affairs website: http://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/index_en.html, Complete an application, no later than four calendar days before arrival, for up to 30 calendar days with a permitted period of stay in Russia not more than 8 days.

When receive E-Visa just save it on your mobile phone or print it out! Passing the Immigrations upon arrival present it together with your passport to the Immigrations officer.

Meanwhile this system is not working yet for Moscow, but we are optimistic and hope, that in the due time the same order will be available for Moscow and other Russian cities as well.

Visa Regulations for OTHER CITIES:

Before entering Russia, a tourist must obtain a visa, in accordance with the purposes and dates of the journey. Using the services of the visa application center of the Russian Federation abroad you can apply for a required visa.

Main documents for tourist visa:

  • Applicant’s Passport + copy
  • A form completed on the website of visa.kdmid.ru
  • A recent color photograph of 3.5 x 4.5
  • Confirmation of the tourist invitation from the official tourist operator (copy of voucher) – provided by GALAKTIKA Company. Hard copies are sent to requested address if necessary (delivery fee will be applied)

SHOPPING IN RUSSIA

Russian cities have a great number of different shopping centers, Souvenir shops and malls.

The shops accept Russian only local currency – rubles as well as credit cards. It is possible to change foreign currency into rubles at numerous exchange offices.

Russian ruble is the official currency of the Russian Federation. Bank code — RUB (before the denomination of 1998 — RUR). Denominations of banknotes: 5,000, 2,000, 1,000, 500, 200, 100, 50 and 10 rubles. Coins: 10, 5, 2 and 1 ruble, 50, 10, 5 kopecks.

You can exchange foreign currency at exchange offices located at the airport, banks and just in the city. Banks work on weekdays, exchange offices work the same on weekends, among them there are also round-the-clock ones.

Moscow: GUM is not just a store where you can buy almost everything. This is a whole shopping district, in which there is a pharmacy, a bank branch, and a flower shop … This is a monument of architecture. This is a comfortable recreation area with restaurants and cafes. This is an art gallery and a venue for cultural events. This is an integral part of Russian history. This is a symbol of Moscow, and this is the closest place to the Kremlin, where you can feel yourself in Europe.

St. Petersburg: «Galeria» is a large shopping complex located in the city center next to the Moscow railway station, where you can buy almost everything, from luxury perfumes and expensive clothes to electronics and products.
